Funding

We work with families accessing therapy through a range of funding pathways. Below is an overview of the most common options and how they apply to occupational therapy services at Only About Kids OT.

All appointments are subject to our 48 business hour late notice policy. We offer services both in-clinic and in the community, with travel fees applying for community-based appointments. For detailed information about our fees or funding, please reach out to our Client Support Team.

National Disability Insurance Scheme

NDIS funding can be used for occupational therapy when the support is related to the participant’s disability, aligns with the goals outlined in their NDIS plan, and meets the NDIS criteria of being reasonable and necessary.

At Only About Kids OT, we provide services for families who are self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participants.

  • For self-managed families, invoices are due to be paid on the day of service.
  • For plan-managed families, invoices are sent directly to your plan manager.

Only About Kids OT does not manage NDIS budgets, and families are encouraged to ensure sufficient funding is available in their plan prior to commencing therapy.

Medicare

Some families may be eligible to access a partial rebate for occupational therapy services through Medicare when they have a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCM), previously known as a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) or Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC).

These plans allow a maximum of 5 allied health sessions per calendar year. Medicare rebates contribute toward the cost of an appointment but do not cover the full fee. Payment is required on the day of the appointment and families can claim the rebate directly from Medicare, which is then reimbursed into their nominated account.

We also accept referrals under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). Please note appointments under this funding pathway have limited availability.
