VANESSA CUSCHIERI

Occupational Therapist

Vanessa graduated from Australian Catholic University (ACU) with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. Throughout her studies, she completed placements in numerous settings such as private practice and at a mainstream primary school. Vanessa was also an occupational therapy assistant at OAK for a year and a half.

Vanessa loves all areas of practice within paediatrics but she has a particular interest in handwriting and school readiness. She wants all children to be able to express their thoughts on paper and excel in school so they can reach their full potential in life. Vanessa also has a strong interest in ensuring that all children regardless of their needs are able to have fun with their peers and participate in all aspects of school and their life.

Vanessa has a strong belief that it is not just about the child in therapy, it is about everyone that surrounds the child. Therapy should not just be done in the clinic but rather, it is something that all people that interact with the child should be doing with the child. The more exposure and practise the child receives, the better their future outcomes will be! Vanessa is constantly upskilling and learning new things so she can always ensure she is using the current evidence to inform her practice

Outside of work, you might find Vanessa at the gym, painting or spending time with her dog, Archie
